Mercedes-EQ Ownership Benefits

Electrified Powertrain

Requiring no gasoline to power its models, the Mercedes-EQ lineup is run entirely by electricity. Owners will experience what a zero-emission drive feels like, enjoying a quiet, smooth ride.

Instant Responsiveness

All-electric vehicles offer instant torque delivery, so as you merge onto the highway or set new records on a closed track, your Mercedes-EQ model provides lightning-fast responsiveness.

Exceptional Range

Have you seen the range comparisons lately? Mercedes-EQ models offer drivers some of the longest all-electric ranges on a single charge, which means you can enjoy your road trip without frequently stopping at charging stations.

Quick Charging

Even when it's time to recharge your Mercedes-EQ model's battery, you won't have to wait long. Plus, with the MBUX system and your Mercedes me app, you can easily locate the nearest charging station whenever you're far from home.

Innovative Tech

All of that creative engineering wasn't reserved for just the powertrains of Mercedes-EQ models. You'll discover that these EVs also include cutting-edge features and systems like the MBUX Hyperscreen, world-class sound systems, augmented video for navigation, wireless charging and more.

Mercedes-EQ Charging

At Home

At Home

Similar to charging your phone at night, your Mercedes-EQ model can be charged at your home with the ChargePoint Home Flex, installed by Qmerit. Conveniently small, safe and more cost effective than fueling your model with gasoline, the at-home charge box gives your vehicle the daily surge of energy it needs to take on the open road.

On the Go

While you're out and about, charging on the go has never been easier. Not only will first-time owners of all-electric Mercedes-Benz models enjoy complimentary 30-minute charging sessions with Electrify America's DC fast-charging stations for the first two years, but there are nearly 60,000 public chargers nationwide. Plan your trips with confidence with a Mercedes-EQ.

Mercedes-EQ Frequently Asked Questions

Do electric vehicles perform as well as gas-powered vehicles?

Of course! We've listed the horsepower, torque and acceleration of the two Mercedes-EQ AMG® models above as proof. All-electric models are known to excel in areas of torque and acceleration since the energy stored in their batteries can be ready in an instant.

Where can I find public charging stations?

When you download the Mercedes me app, you can locate the nearest public charging station from your smart device. Mercedes me Charge — within the Mercedes me app — helps you locate, use and activate charging sessions. Your MBUX system can also locate a nearby charger, so if you're ever out without your phone, you won't waste miles searching for a place to charge your Mercedes-EQ.

How often do I need to charge, and how long does it take?

How often will depend on the Mercedes-EQ model that you choose, and the length of time will depend on how low the battery is. However, for example, if your Mercedes-EQ model is at 10 percent, it will only take approximately 30 minutes to charge to 80 percent at a DC public fast charger.

What's the difference between Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 (DCFC) charging?

Level 1 uses a common 120-volt household outlet — nearly all EVs can be charged on a Level 1 charger, but it's the slowest way to get to a full battery. You'll receive between 3-5 miles of range per hour, according to Forbes.

Level 2 operates at 240 volts, either through an outlet or hardwired charging station at home or at a public charging station. It's the most common for daily EV charging since it adds between 12-80 miles of range per hour (depending on the vehicle's maximum charge rate and the power outlet of the Level 2 charger). A Level 2 charger will replenish your vehicle's battery overnight, even if it was plugged in nearly empty.

Level 3 is the fastest charger. It uses direct current (DC) while Levels 1 and 2 use alternating current (AC). Since the voltage is higher on Level 3 chargers (and they cost tens of thousands of dollars), you won't see them installed at home but rather at public charging stations. They'll replenish your EV with 3-20 miles of range per minute.

What equipment do I need to charge at home?

While you can order a Level 1 accessory charger for your Mercedes-EQ, we recommend purchasing a Level 2 wall box through ChargePoint for your EV's charging needs. Your Mercedes-EQ will be charged at a rate of around 20-30 miles per hour on a 240-volt circuit. The Mercedes-Benz EQS, for example, can charge from 10 percent to 100 percent in just over 11 hours at a maximum of 9.6 kW.

How much will my Level 2 installation cost?

Installation costs will vary, depending on the individual setup of your home. We recommend using Qmerit to complete the Level 2 charger installation. Complete your home assessment online and request a quotetoday!
